Frame Style

Frames come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. From a natural wood finish to a smooth spray-painted style. The width of the visible frame will vary in sympathy with the size of the picture as too large a frame can swamp the image.

Moulding or coving can be added using a router or by means of different layers of wood. These more elaborate frames  are more suited to works of art, such as paintings or collage.

I paint some frames in a mix of colours to draw out the thematic contrasts within a picture. For example, a rustic watercolour can draw in the eye by green-toning the wood.

The texture of the log brought out by the natural frame.
A green moulded frame used to pick out the greens in the picture.
This time the bluey-green fade on the frame links to this Scottish scene.

Bold colours for smaller style frames can draw out the colour and tone in each picture.

Display your favourite vinyl

12" vinyl is back in vogue. The sleeve can be shown in a coved frame on the wall so you can play the record or as a bigger rectangular frame displaying the vinyl itself. I'll even source the record for you.

You can also order storage drawers which can hold between 50-70 records.

Finally, a new use for the tea table.
This stores away in the upright position to show the sleeve or opens up to serve the afternoon tea and biscuits on safety glass.
